What a beautiful day today! It's been such lovely weather and I absolutely LOVE it! I'm so happy it's no longer cold and wet outside. I took Zeke out for a walk first thing this morning to soak in the morning sunshine.
When I got home, I made myself three small Only Oats pancakes with some light pancake syrup. Yum!
I spent my morning catching up on blogs, emails and other things with my trusty 1L Nathan water bottle by my side! No this isn't product placement, I just really love this water bottle!
After spending the morning behind my computer screen, I made myself a smoothie before heading off to a meeting. I blended up a frozen banana, a cup of flax milk, and half a scoop of protein powder. I didn't feel like using spinach today, so this was just a straight up banana smoothie!
As soon as I finished my smoothie, I was off to the meeting!
The meeting went by in a flash and I met up with my friend, Janine, afterwards for some fun and retail therapy. I didn't end up buying anything special except some necessities from Shoppers Drug Mart, but I did by a very early dinner at the food court. I got a small Greek salad with loads of chicken on top. I also had a few chocolate covered pretzels from the Bulk Barn as a yummy treat!
When I got home from shopping I spent some time hanging out with Casey and Zeke. I also made some kale chips to munch on throughout the evening.
We gave Zeke a very much-needed bath and cuddled with him as he dried off on the warm balcony.
Later in the evening, I finally made it out to the gym to get in some cardio. I did an hour interval workout on the elliptical and a quick core session. As I've said before, I don't love doing a full hour doing the same thing for cardio, but I've really gotten in the zone the past couple of times I've been on the elliptical, so I've just went with it and stayed there for the full hour. Here is what I did for my brief core workout...
Core Workout (3 sets of 12 reps)
- Weighted exercise ball crunches (15lbs)
- Weighted exercise ball oblique twists (15lbs)
- Weighted half roll back (15lbs)
And that was it! It wasn't a very long ab workout, but it sure made me feel sore by the end! I hope you have all had a fantastic day and had a chance to get in a great workout doing something you enjoy!
