Today started off like any other Friday. I woke up before the crack of dawn, made myself a smoothie for breakfast using a banana, half a cup of blueberries, half a scoop of protein powder, and some unsweetened almond milk, and I headed off to school.
Lunch
After class was finished, I headed home for lunch. I made myself a gluten-free pizza using a GF rice tortilla, a little bit of light mozzarella cheese, red onion and hot peppers.
We ran out of bell peppers and the pizza just wasn't the same without it!
Afternoon
I spent the first few hours of the afternoon napping on the couch after a pretty restless night last night. I woke up shortly after 2pm and made myself half a cup of white hot chocolate to pick myself up.
Casey and I needed a little something to do this afternoon, so we headed off to Remark Fresh Market to do some produce shopping. I swear, all of their produce is incredible every single time! They also offer free coffee and tea. I grabbed a cup of tea to sip on as we shopped. Mmm!
Dinner?
Because I spent a good part of the afternoon napping and had two pretty filling beverages since waking up, I wasn't too hungry by the time dinner rolled around. Instead, I opted to make a loaf of GF cinnamon raisin bread that I picked up from the market. It was a Bob's Red Mill mix and I added in extra raisins.
The bread turned out better than I had expected! It rose up pretty high and tasted great. It wasn't as sweet as I had hoped, but it's completely fine. If I want to, I can always top it with honey or jam.
Poor Zeke!
As the bread baked in the oven, Casey and I decided to give Zeke's toenails a trimming. We've never had any problems trimming his nails ourselves, so we were expecting it to be a breeze. I sat down to shine the flashlight through Zeke's nails so Casey could see exactly where the quick was to cut them and bam! We hit the quick on the first nail. Surprisingly enough, Zeke didn't even flinch! We were both shocked because we thought we were no where near the quick...I mean, that's why we use the flashlight method.
Oh well! The poor guy didn't seem to mind much. We sat down with him and put pressure on his toenail until the bleeding stopped. Then Casey put a tiny put of superglue on the end of his nail to keep salt and dirt out of it while it heals. About a half an hour later, and it was like nothing had happened! Nonetheless, we decided to save the rest of his nail trimming for another day.
Movie Night
Casey and I decided to spend the rest of the night relaxing. We picked up two bags of Lays chips--classic for him, salt and vinegar for me! We watched Dark Shadows and spent the rest of the night relaxing.
I'm glad it's the weekend so I can do a little bit of resting; however, I have lots to get done over the next few days!

You deserve some weekend resting. We used to cut my dogs nails but now we get it done for her, it was too hard to do.
