Try It Yourself Series: Gluten Free (Day 4)
Breakfast
Just like yesterday, I wasn't terribly hungry when I woke up this morning. This is crazy unusual for me because I'm always hungry for breakfast!
I made myself two plain rice cakes topped with peanut butter to satisfy myself for the time being. I also had a big orange pekoe tea for my morning class.
Lunch
Wednesday's are a little tricky because we have 7 hours of class back to back. And that means eating lunch at our desks in class! I brought some cold leftover chili with me to class to eat with gluten-free tortilla chips. It was a really tasty and easy lunch to eat in class. I also munched on an apple afterwards.
Afternoon Snack
When I got home, I was feeling a little hungry and very cold so I made myself a small bowl of cream of rice cereal to warm up before I headed out to the barn to teach.
Dinner
Unfortunately, dinner went unphotographed because I had to eat it between lessons and during our instructor's meeting. I brought one and a half sausages sliced up with mustard, and raw veggies with roasted red pepper hummus. Deeelish!
Workout
My workout for today was not only freezing my butt off teaching, but also riding my beautiful girl Ginny! We had a great ride and managed to keep ourselves warm for about 45 minutes tonight.
My TIY Experience
Physical - Physically, I feel about the same today as I did yesterday. I'm less bloated than I have ever been, but I feel about the same as I did yesterday and the day before. My ravenous hunger spells have decreased and my blood sugar feels more stable than usual.
Mental - I'm still craving cereal, so I think I'm going to go out and buy some gluten-free cereal tomorrow before class. I'm not going to fight it anymore! It'll give me a great opportunity to test out some GF cereals and how they taste.
Difficulty - I'm still surprised at how easy this has been. Once I solve my cereal problem, I will be on the mental high road!
