This or That?1. Run/workout in the heat and humidity or freezing temps and snow?
Run in the heat and humidity. I'm totally a seasonal runner! I'm not a fan of treadmills and I can't stand running in the cold, so I stick with running during the warmer months and doing other forms of cardio during the winter. Plus, living in Ontario made me very used to the heat and humidity!
2. Have washboard abs or flat abs?
I admire women who can have washboard abs, but I think I prefer flat abs with a little bit of definition. They're so much more feminine and make shirts look amazing! Here are some of my "ab idols".
The Doctors! Only because the show is much more fun to watch and they bring on Jillian Michaels a lot!
4. Cardio or strength?
Aside from horseback riding cardio, I prefer strength training because there's so much variety. I tend to get really bored with cardio for long periods of time. I'd rather hop on the elliptical or a bike for 20 minutes, do a interval or HIIT cardio workout, then more on to strength. Cardio also leaves me feeling tired, while strength leaves me feeling strong!
5. Cravings: Protein or carbs?
Carbs! I'm trying so hard to make myself crave protein more often, but I'm a carbs girl. I always will be.
6. Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper?
I love Jillian Michaels for her die-hard attitude toward training, weight loss, and fitness. I have a lot of her workout DVDs and I love them. That being said, Bob Harper is such a down to earth, genuine, and all-around nice guy. I love his relaxed and grounded approach to fitness.
7. Frozen Yogurt or Ice Cream?
Ice cream! Vanilla soft serve in a regular cone or birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cone. Nom nom nom!
8. To train: Upper body or Lower body?
Lower body because it's easier for me, but upper body because it's a challenge. I find myself working out my upper body more often because it's not as strong as my lower half, but I enjoy working out my legs more.
9. Protein powder or food with protein?
I don't love the taste of protein powder and I don't like consuming things that are artificial or processed. I'd rather get my protein with my food, but I'll take protein powder if needed.
10. Lunges or squats?
Squats! Oh my goodness, I can't stand lunges. I don't know if it's because my knees are bad or if they just aren't strong enough, but lunges really hurt my knees. I try to avoid them whenever possible.
11. Sweet or salty?
Mmm salty! Especially when it's paired with vinegar. Don't get me wrong, I have a huge sweet tooth, but I prefer salty and sour flavours.
12. Workout attire: cute or comfy?
A little bit of both. I can't workout in baggy outfits, so most of my gymwear is fitted and kind of cute. But you'll never see me go to the gym with my make-up perfect, my hair done nicely and a cute little outfit on. I'm there for business!!
13. Body Pump or Heavy lifting?
I've never tried body pump before, but I think I'd prefer it to heavy lifting. I'm all about the reps, people!
14. Yoga or Pilates?
Both! They're both so beneficial and fun in their own way. I love yoga for the stretch, but pilates is an incredible workout for your core. I can't choose just one! They both compliment eachother perfectly.
15. Nike or Adidas?
Nike. I'm not really a fan of Adidas clothing or shoes.
16. Running on the treadmill or outdoors?
Running outdoors! There's so much more to see and so many places to go when you're outdoors. I love trail running or running with my dog outside. Plus it's kind of fun to go exploring and now stare blankly at a TV screen or out a window.
17. Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?
I've never been to either one. Sadly, Canada doesn't have very many of either and neither one are located close to where I live. It's my goal to someday visit both!
18. Summer or Winter Olympics?
I like watching the summer olympics much better than the winter ones. I like watching gymnastics, diving, and most importantly...EQUESTRIAN!
19. Exercises classes or Exercise videos?
Exercise classes, for sure! I love the social aspect of exercise classes and they really help push you to your limit. I find exercise videos do the opposite. If I'm working out by myself at home, I'm much more likely to quit or not give it my best effort.
20. Steamed veggies or roasted veggies?
Can I say raw veggies? I prefer raw veggies with a bit of dip, but I guess if I had to choose, I'd say roasted veggies. They have much more flavour than steamed.
