Today was the first day back to school! Although, it didn't feel so spectacular because my class didn't start until 3pm and it only lasted just over an hour. Plus, I don't have class tomorrow. Odd way to start the term!
I started my day with a big bowl of cereal with almond milk and a drizzle of peanut butter.
I also took Zeke for a nice long walk through the snowy trails before hitting the gym.
Morning Snack
After the gym, I had a post-workout snack. I loaded up a plain rice cake with light cream cheese and strawberries.
I also spent some time blogging and relaxing in the sunshine with Zeke. We're both share a love of sunshine!
Lunch
Before class, I made myself a steak fajita for lunch. I topped a small ancient grains tortilla with lettuce, orange bell pepper slices, red onion, steak, and light mozzarella cheese. I also added in a bit of salsa later on. It was incredible!
I also made myself a tea to keep me warm while I waited in the chilly outdoors to get to class.
Dinner
I wasn't able to snap a photo of dinner before I rushed out the door to spend some time at the barn. I made myself a nacho pizza, but was running late so I ate it on the go.
Workout
I managed to get in a great workout today! After a nice long warm-up walk with Zeke and walk to the gym, I hopped on the elliptical for a 30 minute power session. I was sweating all over by the time I was done. Then, I hit the weights! I did a back and chest workout by incorporating a variety of exercises with handweights.
Chest & Back Workout (3 sets of 10 reps)
- Bent-Over Row (20lbs each)
- Deadlift (60lbs total)
- Bent-Over Fly (15lbs each)
- Chest Press (40lbs total)
- Chest Fly (15lbs each)
