Sandwich Monster

Breakfast

Today was the start of my very early mornings. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are just brutal for wake-up times. My alarm went off at 5:15am this morning and I was just not ready to get out of bed. Ugh!

Anyway, I forced myself to get up and take Zeke for a quick walk before making myself breakfast. I made some protein-packed oats made with 3/4 cup of large flake oats, two egg whites and a splash of water.

Lunch

After a relatively short morning of classes, I arrived home crazing a sandwich. I hadn't had a peanut butter and jam sandwich in years, so that was the sandwich of choice. I loaded up two slices of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and raspberry jam. I also had some cucumber slices with Sweet Thai Chili sauce on the side.

Afternoon Snack

I spent a good part of my early afternoon ready and preparing for tomorrow's classes. I snacked on some leftover Cheetos from last night as I read and learned about reinforcements and their application in behaviour modification. Fun stuff!

Dinner

I spent my evening teaching therapeutic horseback riding lessons, then heading over to another barn for a lesson of my own. I didn't have time to have dinner until I got home from riding. I had Casey throw a Buffalo chicken burger into the oven for me so I could quickly eat a Buffalo chicken sandwich when I got home. Not the healthiest dinner, but it did the trick in a crunch.

Workout

My only workout today was a very challenging hour-long riding lesson. My abs and legs are killing me because I had to use them so much in tonight's lesson. I know I'll be very sore tomorrow...which is amazing! As usual, I rode my favourite little jumper pony, Billy!

Riding is definitely one of the most challenging workouts I have ever done. If anyone ever says riding isn't hard work, they've clearly never ridden jumper before!

Riding IS an intense workout! I used to train Western performance show horses that were just starting out. It's not only a physical workout but a mental one as well every time you get in the saddle :)

My blog's getting a facelift! I'd LOVE it if you'd come check it out:
