I have so many pictures to share with you after such a busy weekend that I'm going to keep talking to a minimum. I had a fantastic time at the gorgeous wedding for two incredible people! I couldn't imagine a better match!
Zeke, Casey and I headed out to my parents' place on Saturday morning to do some laundry before getting ready for the wedding.
As usual, we drank iced coffees on the drive out. Mine was a medium sugar free vanilla iced coffee mad with milk, while Casey's was a caramel iced coffee made with milk.
I had some tuna salad, carrots and a peach for lunch once we finally arrived.
Casey and I got all gussied up, then headed out for our friend's big day!
The wedding was absolutely stunning! I'm so happy for both of them and I can only wish them a lifetime of happiness.
The reception was just as gorgeous as the wedding ceremony. The food was delicious and we had a great time dancing the night away!
We had the wonderful opportunity of sleeping in this morning since we had absolutely no plans for the day. I made myself one over easy egg with 1/4 cup of extra egg whites added in and a slice of extra thin multigrain toast and margarine.
I also had a bowl of frozen berries on the side.
Casey and I picked up some groceries, which included a very tasty watermelon. I ended up eating about a cup of watermelon chunks for lunch as Casey was cutting it.
I also had a banana wrapped in a small whole wheat tortilla with light cream cheese to finish off a very fruity lunch.
We had to drive back out to our hometown to pick up a bike wheel Casey dropped off the day before. We dropped by Starbucks on our way out for a little refreshment. I ordered a grande caramel light blended frappuccino with no whip and Casey ordered a grande skinny mocha latte.
We found some kittens that were living outside Casey's parents' house and discovered that they were all quite friendly! Let the cuteness ensue...
Fiiinally, we stopped by the tack shop on our way back into town to do some breeches browsing. All but one of my breeches have holes in them, so I was looking for a good quality pair that would last me a long time.
I certainly found what I was looking for! I found a pair that fit like a glove, were made of the most comfortable lightweight material, were functional yet stylish at the same time...and were $170!! Yikes!
Alas, I ended up buying them anyway. I'm thinking of them as a good investment and hopefully they will long outlive any of my cheapo breeches that I buy all the time. I'm saving those ones for mucking around at the therapeutic riding barn and only wearing my expensive breeches for lessons.
Also...it's my birthday on the 21st, so I'm calling these breeches a birthday present to myself!
Happy birthday to me!
Questions:
Have you ever spent a lot of money on a single purchase?
Do you ever feel the need to justify these big purchases?
What were you up to this weekend while I was away?
