After another busy day at work and a severe lack of groceries in the house, Casey and I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a rotisserie chicken and some fresh salads for dinner. We just haven't had time to buy proper groceries this week.
Along with the chicken, we bought a roasted butternut squash salad and an apple cranberry wild rice salad.
I'm not usually a dark meat eater, but I decided to try a drumstick tonight for the first time in ages. It wasn't great, so I won't likely be eating another one anytime soon. Instead, I ate all of my chicken breast and then some.
The apple cranberry wild rice salad was my favourite. It was a combination of sweet and tangy with a nice apple crunch.
On the other hand, I wasn't a fan of the roasted butternut squash salad. It didn't taste much like squash and the vinaigrette was far too overpowering. I was disappointed because this was the salad I was most excited to try.
My sister is staying here for the night so she can be close to the train station to catch a train tomorrow morning. Right now, we're watching our favourite The Newlyweds reruns (ancient reruns)!
