Turns out the gloomy weather was worse than I expected. Before I knew it, there was thunder echoing across the sky and hints of lightning in the distance. We are not allowed to continue with lessons during thunderstorms for the safety of our riders and our horses, so we had a grooming lesson instead. Each camper had the chance to groom a different horse, and learn about grooming, parts of the horse and horse handling skills. This was such a good group of kids and the morning flew by without a hitch!
I got home early from the barn, so I was able to relax and catch up on some back-to-school chores.
Coming home from the barn early also meant I had the time to write a lunchtime blog entry!
It was a little chilly at the barn, so I was looking for something to warm me up for lunch. I found a can of Campbell's Herbed Chicken with Rice soup in the back of my cupboard and decided to give it a try.
It was easy to make and in no time I was getting warmed up by my bowl of soup!
I'm not usually a fan of canned soups, but this one wasn't too bad! I ate about 2/3 of the can before giving up due to a full belly.
I have just enough time to relax for a little while before I head off to work. I'm not really looking forward to working an afternoon shift, but I'm trying to go into work with a positive attitude. It always makes the day fly by!
