Today has been super busy but great so far! It was full of exercise that felt amazing. My day started off with a 5:30am wake-up call. I took Zeke out for a walk and got myself ready to start the day. I made myself a smoothie for the road and headed off to bootcamp. My stomach was feeling a little iffy, so I opted to save my smoothie until after bootcamp was over.
I blended up half a frozen banana, half a cup of frozen blueberries, half a scoop of Bodylogix vanilla protein powder, a handful of frozen baby spinach leaves, and about 3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk to make my smoothie. It was so delicious and creamy, and it even held it's consistency during the workout, so it wasn't watery by the time I was able to drink it.
Just like last week, Cheryl from Happy is the New Healthy whipped our butts into shape with a cardio warmup, then a challenging circuit followed by an ab marathon. Despite all of the coughing and sniffling, I managed to survive and actually enjoy myself!
I drank my smoothie on the way out to the barn to teach lessons to very young kids at camp. They were basically only able to have pony rides and trot a tiny bit, but they were super cute and loved every minute of it!
I ate an apple and a Larabar as my morning snack, then it was my turn to ride. I hopped on Ginny and did a very sweaty 25 minutes of flatwork before taking her outside to cool down. She's out of shape from her month off and I didn't want to push her in this heat.
It was finally time to come home to take Zeke out for yet another long 40-minute walk. I ate the second half of the turkey cheddar sandwich I brought home from Tony Roma's last night for lunch. It actually filled me up quite a bit, so I guess I'll just have to fit my veggies in a little later today.
Tonight, a group of instructors and exercise riders from the barn are driving to Toronto to see Cirque du Soliel's Cavalia.
I'm really looking forward to it...and the roadtrip too! I'm loading my iPod up with plenty of Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and Spice Girls music to sing along to in the car. It should be a great evening!
