Bloated!

Good morning folks!
I went to bed last night feeling just about as bloated as a person can possibly feel without exploding. I'm not sure exactly why, but I woke up this morning feeling better, but still pretty bloated.

I've been dealing with "bloat" on and off for quite some time now and I'm not sure exactly what is the culprit. I don't remember experiencing bloat throughout my life up to about a year ago, aside from feeling super full after eating too much. Now, it seems like I could have the healthiest, lightest day and I still end up with a preggo-like belly of bloat.

What is wrong with me?!?!

I know there are certain foods that cause bloat, many of them I eat on a routine basis; however, I've always been able to eat these foods and not experience bloat. Here are some foods that I DO eat that may be causing my bloating problems...
  • Dairy - I used to be able to eat as much dairy as I wanted; however, I have recently been unable to properly digest milk and some other dairy products. I have stopped drinking milk entirely and limit the rest of my dairy.
  • Vegetables - I can get bloated after eating spinach and broccoli, which I did eat quite a lot of yesterday. To cure this problem, I have invested in Beano, a dietary enzyme that helps your body break down some sugars found in foods like spinach and broccoli.
  • Iron Supplements - One of the side effects of taking an iron supplement is bloating; however, I have been taking this supplement for over a year and it hasn't caused me any problems until now.
Well, that's it! I'm not sure exactly why this bloating started so suddenly, along with the dairy intolerance. It almost feels like my digest system is just entirely out of whack and I wonder if doing some sort of detox, then slowly reintroducing foods until I find the bloating culprits would be beneficial?

Questions
Do you ever get bloated?
What foods make you feel bloated?
Were you able to fix the problem?
Have you ever tried doing a detox or a cleanse to fix digestive problems? If so, which one(s) and did it/they work?

PS - If you're wondering where my breakfast post is this morning, I went to bed a little later than usual last night and just woke up. I was planning our a hiking trip Casey, Zeke and I will be taking this Friday as our anniversary trip. We didn't want to go away for long and leave Zeke alone, so we planned a trip where he could come along and have fun too!

Don't worry, I will post about breakfast shortly!

It could be gluten....if you try 1 or 2 days without it you may notice a difference. You may just have a "sensitivity" to it rather than an intolerance!

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try and see how it makes me feel.

I was about to say the same thing. Look into trying some gluten-free and dairy-free cooking. It makes a world of difference.
