HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Just another day of the Canada Day long weekend where I have to work. Boo! Oh well, today is actually a short shift and I'll be done with plenty of time to see fireworks tonight with Casey. My posts have been a bit sporatic this weekend due to random shifts at work, sleeping in later than usual, and general laziness. Don't fret, posting will be back to normal tomorrow!
I had to wake up early this morning to drive Casey to work. He's getting in some extra hours today because I'm working and we wouldn't be able to spend time together anyway. I picked up a few groceries on my way home to last us the next few days.
When I got home, I made myself a slice of ancient grains toast with peach jam. I also paired it with a hard-boiled egg for extra protein.
Zeke waited patiently while I ate breakfast, then the two of us headed out for a long walk in the scorching heat. We ended up walking for just over an hour and we were dead by the time we got back home. I was dripping with sweat and Zeke was panting up a storm. I think we both got in a decent workout for the day just by going for our usual walk!
Finally, I remembered to take my iron supplement before hopping in the shower to get ready for the day. I often forget to take my iron supplement, leading to a very sluggish and low energy day. The main reason why I forget to take it is because I don't take it on a regular schedule. You shouldn't take iron supplements within a few hours of consuming calcium or dairy products. I consume dairy so often that I can never take the supplement at the same time each day. I really need to work on avoiding calcium for one meal of the day and getting a routine started.
Anyway, now I have to finish getting ready and then head off to work! I'll make a super quick lunch post before I leave for work. I'm planning on making another smoothie to take with me to work.
