It took me 34.08 seconds to run 5k, including a few walk breaks to regain some stamina. I'm not disappointed in this time, particularly after such a long break from running, but it does give me something to work towards. I'd like to run a sub-30 minute race in September, a goal that is realistic and attainable.
After my run, I took Zeke out for a half-hour walk to cool down and stretch my muscles. I made myself a smoothie to rehydrate when I got home around 11am. I decided to split lunch into two parts today to quench my thirst immediately following my run.
I blended together half a cup of frozen mixed berries, half a scoop of Bodylogix vanilla protein powder, half a cup of milk and half a cup of water.
Part 2 of my lunch came around 1pm. I made one overeasy egg with an additional egg white added in and a slice of whole wheat toast with butter for dipping.
Everything was delicious and made my tummy very happy! I plan on having a bowl of frozen berries with a bit of Nesquik Plus chocolate syrup just before I head off to work at 3pm to keep me from snacking during my shift. I have a delicious dinner planned for tonight, but it won't be ready until later than our usual dinner time. I want to make sure I'm not ravenous by the time I get home from work!
