Today was my first day without the before school program! It's the first day of summer for public school kids, meaning it's the first day of summer for me. I took advantage of this and slept in pretty late today. I didn't get out of bed until 9am and it felt glorious!
When I did finally get out of bed, I made myself a slice of toast for breakfast along with a hard boiled egg.
I topped my slice of ancient grains toast with a hint of margarine and loads of peach jam. I love this PC Blue Menu jam because it's full of fruit with very little sugar added. Essentially, it tastes like I just muched up a bunch of peaches and spread it on some toast. Talk about YUM!
I also grabbed a hard-boiled egg from the fridge to add some protein to my morning.
Shortly after I woke up, I took Zeke out for a 25 minute walk before heading off to a year-end meeting with my coordinator. I stopped by Starbucks on the way home to pick up a celebratory beverage--a grande iced skinny vanilla latte!
Thanks to the lovely gifts from parents of my kids in the school age program, I am now $60 richer in Starbucks gift cards. These parents really know how to treat their teachers (and "teachers"...like me)!
My only plans for today is a hair appointment in the early afternoon. I'm trying out a different hair dresser this time in the hopes of finding someone I really like and can go to for years to come. I've had the worst luck with hair dressers since moving out of my hometown. I have some pretty high hopes for this one because she is the hairdresser of a few of my friends with the best hair I've ever seen. Fingers crossed! I'll be sure to take some before and after photos this time.
Wish me luck!
