Barley for Breakfast

I made myself a hearty bowl of hot cereal this morning to keep me satisfied through morning program and during my retail shift afterwards.

I prepped my breakfast last night by boiling two handfuls of pearled barley, two handfuls of 12-grain hot cereal (contains rye, flax, oats etc.), and one handful of steel cut oats in roughly three cups of water. I let it simmer until all of the water was boiled off and the cereal was at a desired texture.

This morning, I simply had to pull a bowl out of the fridge and reheat it in the microwave after adding some stevia and cinnamon to taste.




My camera seems to be malfunctioning at the moment, so I had to use my camera phone. My apologies for the poor quality! I won't have time to blog at lunch today because my retail shift runs a bit later than usual. I will snap some photos and post them with my dinner pictures. Until then, have a lovely day!
