Barbeque-less Barbeque Ribs

It's been a long time since I've shared a recipe with you, so here is what I made for dinner tonight.

Barbeque-less Barbeque Ribs
-Ribs (pork side or back ribs work best)
-Barbeque sauce of your choosing

Thaw out frozen ribs entirely beforehand or buy ribs from fresh instead of frozen. Cut the rack of ribs into manageable sections--I cut each rack into quarters to fit into our small slow cooker. Drizzle ribs with barbeque sauce and arrange them to fit in the slow cooker vertically so the moisture can run off rather than pool inside rib sections. Cook on medium for 7-8 hours or on high for 5-6 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F when the ribs are almost finished in the slow cooker. Once the ribs have been cooked thoroughly, remove them from the slow cooker and place on a baking sheet covered with a sheet of tin foil (this can get messy). Apply a generous coating of your favourite barbeque sauce. Bake ribs in the oven for 15-20 minutes to make them crispy, but do not burn! Once the ribs have reached desirable crispiness, serve hot with your favourite side. Enjoy!

I ended up eating one of the pieces of ribs along with all of my coleslaw. My stomach is still not completely adjusted to red meat--are ribs considered a red meat--or I guess fattier meats. Everything was delicious and the ribs just fell off the bones!

I also had a Caramel Truffle Skinny Cow mini ice cream bar for dessert. What a successful dinner!
