After 11 Hours of Work

Work was insane today. I worked from 7:15am to 6:00pm without much of a break during the entire shift. Oh man! My oatmeal kept me full during the morning and I also bought a medium sugar free vanilla iced coffee made with milk on my way to work to keep me awake.

I munched on a small apple for my morning snack. I had a crab salad sandwich on cracked wheat break and loads of veggies with hummus for lunch. Finally, I had some cheese and crackers with the kids for an afternoon snack. I needed lots of mini meals to keep me fueled for such a busy day.

What is a girl to do after a very hectic 11-hour work day? Go out for a date night with my husband, of course! I wasn't ready to cook anything in the kitchen by the time I got home from work, so we decided to eat out tonight.

We were both craving something barbeque-y and rib-y, so Montana's Cookhouse it was!

I was quite dehydrated from the long day without much to drink, so I started off with a tall glass of water along with a teapot filled with orange pekoe tea that filled my mug twice--both times with one milk and one sugar.

When it was time to order, Casey stuck with the ribs and I ordered the barbeque pulled pork sandwich with a garden salad on the side. I was very happy with the amount of vegetables I received with my side salad and the balsamic vinaigrette was perfect.

The pulled pork sandwich was out of this world! I opted for no cheddar cheese on the sandwich which is normally on this sandwich because I didn't want the cheese to interfere with the barbeque flavour. The barbeque pulled pork was also topped with crispy fried onions that were perfectly seasoned.

I ate the entire salad in no time and had half of the pulled pork sandwich without the top part of the bun and a bit of the bottom. The pork was so good, it didn't even need the bun! I could have eaten it all on it's own. I packed the other half up to take home to enjoy tomorrow.

After dinner, Casey and I headed out for a half-hour walk with Zeke before settling down to watch Thor. I had a bowl of frozen mixed berries with a drizzle of Nesquik Plus chocolate syrup on top. A healthy dessert option instead of ordering one at the restaurant. I'm very glad we didn't eat dessert there!

All in all, today was a very busy, but fun day! I can't wait to rest a bit this weekend. TGIF!
