Dinner tonight was an excellent end to an excellent day! Casey and I picked up a pack of Sicilian Sweet Sausages on our trip to Remark. They looked interesting and we were both wanting to try something new.
We cooked up all three sausages using our mini George Foreman grill and also roasted up some asparagus for me and brussel sprouts for Casey in the oven.
The asparagus was incredible! I seasoned them with a bit of extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and pepper before roasting them in the oven at 400 degrees for roughly 20 minutes.
The sausages were also good. They were a little dry for me, so I ended up eating half of the sausage without the bun and passed the rest to Casey. Even just half of that sausage without any bun was quite filling. I'm glad I didn't try to stuff myself after all of that asparagus.
After dinner, Casey and I took Zeke for a nice long walk through a cemetary near our house. It was nice and relaxing, but we had to hide out under a tree during a brief downpour. It only lasted about 10 minutes and then we were on our way again. Our last, including the wait, ended up being an hour.
When we got back, we were both craving something a little sweet for a nighttime snack. We each had a bowl of frozen mixed berries with a Nesquik Plus drizzle on top.
I know Nesquik Plus isn't exactly on the healthy foods list, but it's better than regular Nesquik. It adds a nice sweetness to the otherwise tart berries.
All in all, a terrific day!
