All About Texture

Good morning!

I didn't have to work this morning, so Zeke and I were able to stay in bed a little longer today. I love staying curled up in my warm bed to cuddle with Zekey! We finally crawled out of bed around 8am and were about to go out for a walk, but realized it was raining outside. Looks like our walk will have to wait!

Before breakfast, I enjoyed a small handful of Cadbury Mini Eggs while working on some Before/After School Program planners. I filled my planners with lots of crafts, team-building games, and fun activities. I can't wait to show these ideas to the kids!


Afterwards, I finally decided to make myself some breakfast. I repeated my breakfast from yesterday, but today the oats tasted even better than ever!


I combined 1/3 cup of large flake oats, two omega-3 egg whites, and about 1/4 cup of water in a bowl and whisked it all together. I put the mixture in the microwave for 2 minutes, whisking again halfway through. I sweetened my oatmeal with a bit of agave and skim milk.


These turned out to be the best eggy oatmeal I have ever tasted! The texture was spot on, creamy but chewy at the same time. The texture was definitely my favourite part of my breakfast!


I also had a mandarin orange on the side. It was sweet, but couldn't compare to the delicious oats.



Hopefully this rain lets up soon so Zeke and I can go out for a walk. I'm not sure whether or not it's supposed to last all day, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine.
